A few days ago I read the article Slim and None in the New York Times which focuses primarily on model Coco Rocha, and is less than flattering. Rocha happens to be one of my favorite models, and I think her blog response today was much more informative and on point than the original article! Interesting read.

Happy to be home once again. I have been in Los Angeles for the past 10 days and am exhausted. It rained a lot, flooded, and there was a tornado in Santa Barbara. Crazy.

LONG STORY SHORT... last summer I went on a trip to Paris and did 2 Fashion shoots, one with a female model (Elaine Kenny) and one with a male model (Gonzalo Domenech). I had downloaded the files on my laptop while in Paris, cleared my cards, edited a few and that was that. A few months later my laptop was stolen, and I realized that all of my photos from Gonzalo's shoot hadn't been backed up, so they were gone. Obviously I was sad over this, but life goes on. So, low and behold I am cleaning out my closet today and I find my old messenger bag that I carried all over Paris. It had some random receipts inside that I cleaned out, and in the small zippered compartment I find... an 8GB card with all of the RAW files from Gonzalo's shoot! I forgot the card was in there and never cleared it! Today was a good day.

Today the newest issue of IN*TANDEM Magazine launched! There is a great feature about The Octopus Project (one of my favorite bands!). I had the opportunity to shoot a few images for the article. The Octopus Project are currently on tour, and their show is amazing! They were in Dallas recently and it ruled. They are playing in Houston next weekend at the Free Press Summer Fest. Should be fun!!!

So I am attempting to have a productive evening after a not so productive week. I had a bunch of studio rentals this week (which is good) but a few personal setbacks. Someone broke into my car (again) which is lame. Luckily none of my equipment was inside, however my portfolio was (you know, the big custom leather House of Portfolio one). The thief decided to go through my book and rip out pictures! They were scattered all over my car, along with a lot of broken glass. And to top things off, they stole my portfolio case! Not the book, just the bag I carry it around in. So if anyone happens to see a meth-head running around Deep Ellum with my bag, let me know please.

So first things first... IN*TANDEM Issue #3 launched today. There are a lot of great people represented in this magazine, and definitely worth checking out. And of course, yours truly. The image I shot of Shunda K back in January made the issue, along with a pretty sweet story about her. Watch the video!!!

I will be in Austin this weekend for SXSW. Have some pretty amazing shoots planned. Stay tuned.

I will be leaving for LA on Tuesday for a whole week of shoots... and I will be getting to see some of my favorite people. Then on to NYC for some more work/play. Very Very excited.

So Roger and I made this amazing set at the studio. The photos will be in the April issue of C-Heads, so you will have to wait a bit for the finished product. The set looks so believable in the final pictures, trust me :-) Randi Astrid did the styling (haven't seen her in for-ev-er) and it was perfection. Obvs.
